Short Scar Facelift in 68 year-old Chicagoland male in Downers Grove, IL*

This is a 68 year-old male who presented to the office with complaints of severe neck laxity and facial aging after a recent 100 lb weight loss. We discussed a corset platysmaplasty of the neck and a short scar facelift with a SMAS plication. We decided on general anesthesia and the patient underwent surgery at our AAAASF accredited facility in Downers Grove, IL. We used both platelet rich plasma (PRP) and tranexamic acid (TXA) at the time of surgery to decrease bruising and swelling for the patient and enhance recovery time. The patient had a uneventful postoperative course and noted a significant improve in his neck and face contour four months after the surgery.
