Short Scar Facelift in 54 year-old Chicagoland area female in Downers Grove, IL*

This is a 54 year-old female who presented to the office with complaints of overall facial aging. The patient was specifically concerned with her neck skin laxity, jowls, and loss of cheek volume. We discussed a short scar facelift with autologous fat grafting to the cheeks and nasolabial folds and platelet rich plasma to enhance her postoperative recovery. The patient had the procedure done under local anesthesia at our AAAASF accredited facility in Downers Grove, IL. We used a short scar retrotragal incision, and platelet rich plasma was injected into each side of the face at the time of the surgery to enhance recovery. Autologous fat was injected into each cheek and nasolabial fold at the time of surgery. A corset platysmaplasty was performed of the neck to improve the contour. The patient tolerated the procedure well. The patient had a noticeable improvement in facial shape and neck contour and overall facial volume at 4 months postoperatively, and good camouflage of her short scar facelift incisions.
