Face and Neck Lift in 73 year-old Chicago area female in Downers Grove, IL*

This is a 73 year-old female who presented to the office with complaints of facial aging. She did not like her loss of facial volume, her jowls and turkey neck, and overall aged facial appearance. We discussed her loss of facial volume as well as the structural changes in her face related to the jowls and neck laxity. We recommended and short scar face and neck lift, bilateral lower eyelid blepharoplasties with skin excision via subciliary incisions, nanofat grafting to the tear trough deformities, and microfat grafting to the cheeks, nasolabial folds, and corners of the mouth. She had the procedure done under local anesthesia using tumescent solution and an oral sedative. The procedure was done at our accredited office-based surgical facility in Downers Grove, IL. The fat was harvested from the periumbilical area and processed into microfat and nanofat. A total of 0.5 ccs of nanofat was injected into each tear trough deformity (dark circles) around the eyes after a skin excision via a subciliary incision and skin flap. The short scar facelift was done via a retrotragal incision. Microfat was injected into each cheek and nasolabial fold. Injection of microfat into the corners of the mouth corrected the downturn of the corners of her mouth. A corset platysmaplasty of the neck corrected the neck laxity and the excess skin was excised and redistributed with the neck lift. The patient tolerated the procedure well and had a nice improvement in her facial shape.
