Face and Neck Lift in 69 year-old Chicagoland area female in Downers Grove, IL*

This is a 69 year-old female who presented to the office with complaints of facial aging. She was unhappy with her neck contour and her jowls. We discussed a short scar facelift with a corset platysmaplasty of the neck to be done under local anesthesia with oral sedation in our office-based AAAASF accredited surgical facility. The patient was given an oral sedation and pain medication for the procedure. Tumescent solution was injected into the face and neck to perform the procedure. A corset platysmaplasty and liposuction of the neck was done to improve the neck contour. Autologous fat was harvested from around the belly button and processed into microfat. The fat was injected into the nasolabial folds and cheeks after the facelift procedure to add volume to those areas. The facelift was done via a retrotragal short scar facelift incision. A SMAS plication was performed to tighten the facial structures. Platelet rich plasma was injected into the facelift incisions to decrease postoperative bruising and swelling. The patient had an uneventful postoperative course and had a nice improvement in facial contour at five weeks after the procedure.
