Fractional CO2 laser resurfacing for wrinkles and acne scars in Downers Grove IL*

Patient was a 67 year-old female who did not like the fine and coarse wrinking of her face and her overall skin texture. She also did not like the acne scarring on her cheeks that she had since she was a teenager. She had fractional CO2 laser resurfacing of her face under local anesthesia. The procedure took about one hour and the patient tolerated it well. We placed platelet rich plasma on the treated areas after the procedure to shorten the recovery time and enhance the healing process. At three months postoperatively, she has a noticeable improvement in skin texture and resolution of some of the finer wrinkles of her face. She also had some softening of the deeper acne scars and an overall improvement in her appearance. She had very little residual redness at three months secondary to the use of the platelet rich plasma (PRP) and the use of a fractional laser.
