This is a 77 year-old Chicago area female with a biopsy positive basal cell carcinoma of the left nasal tip and ala. She had an excision of the skin cancer and was left with a large left heminasal defect. The defect was reconstructed in a two stage procedure done under local anesthesia in the office. The first stage consisted of using a left ear cartilage graft and a left nasolabial flap. The flap design is noted in the pictures. The flap was divided and inset 3 weeks later at the second stage. The patient retained full function and was happy with the aesthetic appearance of the nose.
