Jaw Fracture Treatment in 47 Year-Old Chicago area man in Downers Grove, IL*

47 year-old male involved in an altercation with a history of a jaw fracture a few years prior who presented after being struck in the jaw. The patient had a right mandibular ramus fracture on CT scan. He was brought to the hospital operating room in Downers Grove, IL for an open reduction internal fixation of the fracture of the right ramus using the transbuccal trocar system. He tolerated the procedure well and was placed in intermaxillary fixation (jaw wired shut) for 6 weeks. He maintained his occlusion and had an uneventful postoperative course.
