Treatment of male breasts in 25 year-old under local anesthesia in Downers Grove*

This is a 25 year-old male that presented with gynecomastia (male breasts) which developed after the patient used anabolic steroids. The patient reported 'pointy nipples' which became more prominent in warm weather and prevented him from wearing certain clothes. This did not improve despite being very physically fit. In fact, the patient reported it got worse with more weightlifting. The patient had an excision of the gynecomastia using a minimally invasive technique under local (tumescent) anesthesia. The excision and chest liposuction was performed via a lateral 5 mm chest incision with no visible incisions on the chest or areola. The MicroAire power-assisted liposuction machine was used to liposuction the chest at the time of the procedure. The patient had full recovery at 6 weeks and resolution of the prominent breast tissue.
