This is a 45 year-old female who presented to the office with complaints of symptomatic macromastia. The patient had back pain, shoulder pain, and bra strap grooving and difficulty exercising due to the size of her breasts. She had a significant breast asymmetry with the right breast being larger and extensive stretch marks of both breasts. She had a bilateral breast reduction with 400 gram reduction on the left side and a 500 gram reduction on the right side. The reductions were done using a Wise pattern or inverted T incision using a superomedial breast pedicle. The areolas were reduced to an appropriate size. The surgery was done under general anesthesia at Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village, IL. The patient had an uneventful postoperative course and was symptom free at 6 weeks after the surgery. She was very happy with the cosmetic outcome of the reduction.
