350 cc High Profile Silicone Breast Augmentation in Downers Grove, IL*

This patient is a 21 year old female with a mild tuberous breast deformity who wanted breast augmentation. The patient did sizing in the office and decided on 350 ccs silicone breast implants. Given the tuberous breast deformity, we decided on a subglandular position for the implants. We would also use Exparel (liposomal Marcaine) for postoperative pain control and to decrease the need for narcotics. The patient had the surgery under general anesthesia. Mentor High Profile 350 ccs silicone breast implants were placed using a Keller funnel to avoid contamination of the implant and to allow for a smaller incision size. A 4 cm inframammary incision was used. The Exparel was injected around each breast pocket. The lower pole of each breast was scored with cautery to allow for expansion of the lower pole of the breast and to release the lower pole constriction. The patient had an uneventful postoperative course.
