Extended Tummy Tuck in 38 year-old Chicagoland female in Downers Grove, IL*

This is the front view of a 38 year-old female who lost 118 lbs and had three children and had excess lower abdominal skin and tissue which was refractory to diet and exercise. We recommended an extended tummy tuck due to the amount and extent of skin excess. We performed an extended drainless tummy tuck with Exparel and liposuction of the waist at our AAAASF accredited facility in Downers Grove, IL under general anesthesia. The patient had a full rectus plication with permanent internal sutures correcting her muscle separation from pregnancy. We also used Exparel which injected in the abdominal wall at the time of surgery to allow for better postoperative pain control. Quill sutures were used in a quilting progressive tension suture fashion to eliminate the need for postoperative drains. The patient had an uneventful postoperative course with a significant improvement in her abdominal contour. Notice the normal appearance of the belly button and the low placement of the abdominal scar.
