Tummy Tuck in 31 year-old Chicago area mother of five in Downers Grove, IL*

This is a 31 year-old mother of five with two previous twin pregnancies who presented to the office with significant lower abdominal excess skin, an abdominal bulge (diastasis recti), and an overall loss of her pre-pregnancy shape. On exam, she had a 10 cm (large) diastasis and a lot of lower abdominal stretch marks. The patient was also a Type 1 Diabetic with good blood glucose control. With clearance from her endocrinologist, and a plan for strict postoperative blood glucose control, the patient was scheduled for a full tummy tuck with liposuction of the waist. She had a full tummy tuck at our JCAHO- accredited facility in Downers Grove, IL using a drainless technique and Exparel for postoperative pain control. We used a special technique for creation of the new belly button to give a natural appearance. The patient was fully recovered at 6 weeks and had an excellent improvement in contour.
