Tummy Tuck in 32 year-old Chicagoan in Downers Grove, IL with Dr Paresi*

This patient presented to the office with complaints of lower abdominal skin excess and stretch marks and her flat tummy after pregnancies. We recommended a full tummy tuck with liposuction of her waist. She had the surgery under general anesthesia at our JCAHO accredited facility in Downers Grove, IL. She had liposuction of her waist with the power-assisted liposuction machine (PAL). The tummy tuck utilized our drainless technique using progressive tension sutures with Quill barbed sutures and injection of the Exparel into the abdominal wall for postoperative pain control. A special technique was used to create a natural appearing belly button. A rectus plication, or muscle tightening was performed to correct the muscle separation from previous pregnancies. The patient tolerated the procedure well and has an excellent postoperative result.
