Arm Lift (Brachioplasty) in Chicago area female in Downers Grove, IL*

This is a 58 year-old female with a history of massive weight loss who presented with complaints of excess skin of her arms (Bat wings). She stated that despite her weight loss she was unable to find clothes that appropriately fit her arms. We discussed an arm lift (brachioplasty) to be done under general anesthesia in our JCAHO-accredited facility in Downers Grove, IL. The patient had uneventful surgery which incorporated a Micro-aire power-assisted liposuction machine that was used for liposuction of the entire arm in combination with the skin excision. This allowed for better definition of the arm in addition to the smaller size. We used Quill sutures to close the wound to keep the scars as thin as possible. The patient was fully recovered at one week and was completely healed at six weeks. She was very happy with her result.
