Brachioplasty (Arm Lift) for Skin Excess in Downers Grove, Chicago, IL*

The patient is a 49 year-old female who presented to the office after a 60 lb weight loss. She complained of excess tissue of her arms (bat wings) that did not improve with further weight loss. She had difficulty finding clothes and did not like the way her arms looked. Due to the amount of skin excess of her arms, we recommended a brachioplasty with extension into the armpit area. She underwent an extended brachioplasty under general anesthesia. The extension into the armpit area allowed us to remove excess tissue in the area. Notice the improvement in arm definition and contour on the postoperative photos. We combine liposuction with the excision of the excess tissue to achieve this result.
