54 year-old Chicago area female who had tummy tuck/Exparel in Downers Grove, IL*

This a 54 year-old Chicago area female who presented with complaints of abdominal wall laxity and excess skin and fat of her lower abdomen. She could not regain her pre-pregnancy shape. She had abdominal wall laxity with diastasis (muscle separation) on physical exam. She had a full tummy tuck with liposuction of the waist to improve her contour. The tummy tuck included extensive rectus muscle plication to correct the laxity. She had Exparel injected into the abdominal wall at the time of the surgery to help with postoperative pain control. We used progressive tension sutures with Quill sutures to eliminate the need for postoperative drains. Her surgery was done under general LMA anesthesia at our JCAHO accredited surgical facility in Downers Grove, IL.
